Hosted by Mayor Adrian M Fenty, The Mayor's Arts Awards are the most prestigious honors conferred by Washington, DC on the individual artists, arts organizations, and patrons of the arts.

In the tradition of the Academy Awards, winners are announced for the first time during the ceremony hosted by award-winning journalist Cyne√© Simpson, weekend evening anchor for ABC 7/WJLA-TV. This year’s award ceremony will feature a performance by special guest Raheem DeVaughn. Throughout the evening the audience is treated to a diverse range of performances including The Washington Ballet, Coral Cantigas and DC’s own Mambo Sauce.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. RSVP’s are not required.

FYI - I did not win - but had a great time at the gala. Thanks to the DC Commission for the Arts & Humanities, the judges, the performers, etc!
